Experience a once-in-a-lifetime journey as you delve into the depths of one of the world’s largest deserts with a 3-day Morocco Sahara Desert tour. Explore the magnificent South of Morocco with its stunning geographical and cultural beauty.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Erfoud - Merzouga (550 Km, 8 hours drive)

Start your morning with a pick-up from your location in Marrakech and journey towards Erfoud via Ouarzazate and the majestic Atlas Mountains and its highest pass, Tizin Tichka (2260m).During the 4-hour drive, make a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, set at a height of 1,160m. This desert crossing point for traders has also been used as a filming location for movies such as “Laurence of Arabia” and “Gladiator”. Get a glimpse of Southern Moroccan earthen architecture before continuing the drive to Ouarzazate. Once there, savour an optional lunch before heading to the Saharan dunes of Erg Chebbi at Erfoud. After roughly 6 hours of driving, take a 4×4 car to the desert of Merzouga. Enjoy dinner and spend the night under a nomadic tent, surrounded by the stunning desert.

DAY 2 : Merzouga - Erfoud - Todra Gorges - Dades

Start your day early and embark on an adventure through the sands of Erg Chebbi, one of Morocco’s most impressive sights. Feel the warmth of the sun as you witness the stunning sunrise in the dunes, marveling as the desert wind reshapes the landscape. Then head back to your desert camp for breakfast before departing for Erfoud by 4×4. Make your way south west to the Todra Gorges and take some time to explore the magnificent 300 meter high walls and its various routes for climbers and trekkers. Afterwards, journey onwards to the city of Bomalen Dades and witness its picturesque Kasbahs with panoramic views of the Valley and the Mountains beyond. Once arrived, check in to your hotel, enjoy dinner and rest overnight.

DAY 3 : Dades - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

Enjoy a tasty breakfast at your hotel and take a scenic drive back to Marrakech, passing through the breathtaking Ksar of Aït Benhaddou. At 1,160m, this incredible Kasbah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, composed of ochre adobe buildings that were once a trading point for caravans crossing the Sahara Desert. It has also served as the backdrop of many films, including Laurence of Arabia and Gladiator. An optional lunch can be taken before continuing to Marrakech, then dropping you off at your preferred location.
