Genocide Memorial Centre: regarded as one of the best museums in Africa. Visiting the Gisozi Museum lets you learn of the dark times of the 100 days of genocide in the entire country in 1994.
Description
Kandt Museum and Natural History Museum: It is found at the base of Mt. Jali and Mt.
Kigali, and this is the same place where the German explorer, Dr. Kandt Resided.
Presidential Palace Museum: This palace was for the former president Habyarimana who passed away in 1994 in a plane crash in the presidential compound. It is his death that launched the era of genocide.
Art Museum: you will get to visit Inema Arts Centre for contemporary African Arts, paintings, jewelry, sculptures, African fabrics and leatherworks. While at the museum, visitors will be treated to some cool performances from the young children at the art museum.
Itinerary
You will have a Meet and greet with Our company Representative at the airport who will then transfer you to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, stroll the streets of the capital to acclimatize yourself and fit into the Rwandan way.
Overnight at Flame Tree Lodge (BB)
This morning after breakfast, you will drive to Kigali town for a city tour where you will get to know Rwanda’s most beautiful and amazing city. You also get to learn about the country’s culture and history by visiting the cultural and historical sites of Kigali.
Kigali is Rwanda’s capital city and was named by Doctor Richard Kandt in 1907, the first colonial governor of Rwanda. The city is built on several hills and valleys, there by gaining the title- “the land of a thousand hills” or Hilly city.
Places of interest include;

Later on you will drive to Akagera National Park. Along this scenic drive, you will be taken to the wild side of Rwanda, while meandering through the rolling hills that define the land of Rwanda, taken in by this very spectacular scenery. Arrive in Akagera in time for a game drive.Game drives here hold a full new surprise as nature reveals its treasures in form of wonders that are so scenic, the wildlife like buffalos, antelopes including; the elands, topis, Maasaigirafffes, monkeys, savannah birds, civets, leopards, the hyenas, as well as the serval cats.
Overnight at Ruzizi Tented Camp (LDB)
This morning after you breakfast, you will depart the Park and head to Ruhengeri. You will pass through the scenic country of a thousand hills all draping in unending lush green vegetation cover towards Ruhengeri, the land of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Have lunch at the lodge. We give you time to have sufficient rest as you restore your energies for your gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (LDB)
After an early morning breakfast and we get ready to head to the park, to have a coffee or tea just to warm you up. Thereafter attend a short briefing about your Gorilla trek. Then we head into the jungle in search of these shy but gentle giants. Take pleasure and value every minute of the viewing time you have, with these gentle giants. Thereafter we visit the community living at close quarters to the endangered species. All proceeds obtained, are given back to the community, as a token of appreciating their loving warmth they extend towards these gentle, endangered giants.
Returning in the afternoon you can go for the optional Ibyiwatu Cultural group performance, where you will be entertained, and learn more about Rwandan culture, music, dance, and drama. Or take a visit to the twin lakes before returning to the lodge in the evening.
Overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (LDB)
We have an early morning game drive and continue to Nyungwe forest: A place home to chimpanzees, other primates and a birding paradise. Relaxation and overnight at your lodge.
Overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel (LDB
Wake up to the forest chirping of chattering birds and buzzing of the other creatures. Here we engage on a chimpanzee tracking, a walk that will take approximately 3 hours. Discover the beetles, butterflies and forest birds as we search for the chimps. Later on, take a walk to the community where you will get to know more about the Rwandan tradition.
Overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View lodge (LDB)
This morning, you will depart the forest and head back to Kigali. If time permits, we can enjoy more of the city tour of the capital, visit historical and cultural sites never missing the vibrant market for souvenirs. Later on, drive to the airport to catch you flight back home.
